The problem:
In 2011 the Personal Democracy Forum was expanding their reach. From being an organization centered around their well-known tech and democracy conferences, they were shifting towards becoming a media hub.
As such, they wanted their corporate image to reflect their new name: Personal Democracy Media, and to convey a more community oriented focus.
The proposed banding system should also be easily scalable to cover various sub-brands the company was about to incorporate.
New PDM Logo
The new logo was supposed to be bolder, up with the times, and reconcile the concepts of forum and media, and it should have variations to cover the multiple manifestations of the organization and its events.
Brand system:
Personal Democracy Media encompasses many brands: Personal Democracy Forum, Personal Democracy LatinoAmerica, Personal Democracy Europe, Personal Democracy’s Tech President, and PD+. PDM needed variations in the main brand to work for all of the sub-brands.
